Experiences on Committee work

Having participated in this transatlantic project between students here at Otaniemi Upper secondary School and our counterparts over at Verona Area High School, we feel that this project has been impressive, as well as beneficial and eye-opening. During this collaboration, our committee has discussed the future of education and online learning and how coronavirus pandemic has affected, not only education but our individual lives. As a committee, we have held weekly meetings to discuss and debate issues with the current state of online education. What the vision for the future would look like, along with recommendations local authorities or governments could follow to provide a more enjoyable and efficient learning environment.

Our discussions mostly consisted of Covid-19 related topics, but we also chatted about various other things. Our friends across the pond had the Thanksgiving on Thursday 26th of November, so they shared their personal experiences and traditions and how coronavirus has impacted their plans this year. We also talked about our exam week and how it went and discussed the differences between climates, contrasts in lifestyles and the current situation in Finland and Wisconsin.

Overall this experience has been very educational, But more importantly, we have all enjoyed our time working together as a committee to discuss the issues and had the pleasure of getting to know people from different backgrounds who live on the other side of the world.
